Bergen County prosecutors have accused a Fort Lee man of beating his 5-month-old son.
Authorities say 38-year-old Yoseop Choi brought the boy to a New York City hospital on Tuesday. The child was in cardiac arrest. He also had a severe head injury and a healing rib fracture.
Prosecutors say Choi violently shook and assaulted his son during a two-month period.
The baby remains in critical condition at Bellevue Hospital.
Choi is held on $750,000 bail, charged with aggravated assault and child endangerment.
It's not known if the married college student has a lawyer who can comment on the charges.
