Former Seton Hall Chaplain Given New Post in New Jersey Parish

A former Seton Hall University chaplain who says he was fired for supporting an organization opposed to anti-gay bullying has been given a new position in the Archdiocese of Newark.

The Record reports the Rev. Warren Hall will become parochial vicar at Hoboken's Sts. Peter and Paul parish on Aug. 15. A parish spokesman says Hall is a longtime friend of the church's pastor.

After losing his job for supporting the NOH8 Campaign on Facebook, Hall publicly announced he's gay and has kept his vow of celibacy.

Hall wrote to Pope Francis in July and stated that he's been without income since his termination. Hall's letter says Newark's archbishop told him he was fired because his social media posts "raised questions" about where he stands on Catholic teachings.
