The former headmaster of an elite school in Wilmington has turned himself in on charges of dealing child pornography.
Christopher Wheeler, 53, of Wilmington, stepped down as headmaster of Tower Hill School last week after the attorney general's office searched his home and school office as part of a child abuse investigation.
Authorities say an examination of computers that were seized during the searches recovered multiple images of child pornography.
Detectives with the state Child Predator Task Force secured an arrest warrant for Wheeler on Wednesday, charging him with 25 counts of dealing in child pornography.
Authorities say the Task Force made arrangements with Wheeler for him to turn himself in.
