Former Governor Kicks Off Philly Beer Week

Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell threw down the hammer and tapped the keg, officially bringing in the annual Philly Beer Week.

Rendell received the “hammer of glory” at the 23rd Street Armory Friday night after a day-long Olympic torch-style relay throughout the city.

First created in 2008, Philly Beer Week is the largest beer celebration in the country, consisting of festivals, dinners, tours and pub crawls throughout the city of brotherly love.
