Somebody Call 9-1-1, My Ambulance is Gone!

A ride in a stolen ambulance came to a quick end in the middle of the Schuylkill expressway Thursday morning after police put down two of those spike strips on the road.

The ambulance was headed away from the city and when it drove over the spikes near City Avenue, the tires went flat and the ambulance stopped on the shoulder of the road.

The guy behind the wheel was quickly surrounded and outnumbered by officers.

Shame on the person who left the ambulance running outside a dialysis center on Broad Street a little before 9 a.m.

That was apparently just too tempting for the man accused of hopping in and taking off.
