Flames shot from a utility pole in the Feltonville section of the city this morning.

The pole on 2nd Street and Erie Avenue caught fire around 5:20 a.m.

Flames could be seen making their way from the middle to the top of the pole and around the bottom of the pole.

Fire and Peco crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.

Roads surrounding the pole were shut down for about half an hour. Traffic lights in the area are out due to the blaze.

No word yet on what caused the pole to catch fire.
