Five Philadelphia Officers Injured

It was a violent night for Philadelphia Police as 5 officers were hurt in 2 separate incidents

Four Philadelphia Police officers were injured outside a bar in Southwest Philadelphia and an off-duty officer was beaten outside a bar in Northeast Philadelphia early Friday.

The first incident happened a little before 2 a.m. at Lid's Lounge at Cemetery Avenue and Woodland Avenue when a routine arrest turned into a brawl, according to Philadelphia Police.

At least two officers were hit with beer bottles, according to police.

Also early Friday, an off-duty Philadelphia Police officer was beaten outside Benny The Bum's on Bustleton Avenue, said police.

All five officers suffered minor injuries. The officers involved in the Lid's Lounge brawl were all released from the hospital later Friday morning, according to police.

Police say that the off-duty officer remained in stable condition at Torresdale Hospital late Friday morning.

One suspect was in custody in the Lid's Lounge incident and two suspects were in custody for the Benny the Bum's incident, police said.

None of the suspects were charged as of 11 a.m. Friday.
