Authorities say a 72-year-old Berks County man has fallen into the Lehigh River while fishing and died.
Lehigh County Coroner Scott M. Grim says that Laverne S. Hunsicker, of Greenwich Township, fell into the Lehigh River near the Route 873 bridge in Washington Township on Sunday morning.
He was removed from the river after being found unresponsive around 9:20 a.m. The Lehigh County coroner's office and state police are investigating.
