Fire Rips Through Row Homes Along Allentown Block

At least 8 homes damaged in blaze

Fire tore through at eight homes along a Lehigh Valley block Thursday night, leaving residents standing in the cold.

Fire broke out in row homes along the 400 block of N Fulton Street in Allentown, Pennsylvania around 8:30 and quickly spread to neighboring homes, jumping across roofs. [[404232346, C]]

NBC10 crews on the scene said some homes looked to be damaged by fire, but others may have water or smoke damage.

The American Red Cross of Eastern Pennsylvania responded to provide help to nearly two dozen people left without a home on the cold night. [[404177406, C]]

The fire burned for more than four hours as it hopped from home to home and crews from multiple fire companies worked to contain and stop the flames, getting it under control after midnight.

There were no reports of injuries and no word on what may have sparked the destructive blaze.
