Two-Alarm Warehouse Fire

Fire breaks out at Holmesburg warehouse, no injuries reported

Fire broke out at a warehouse Monday morning causing black smoke to temporarily slow traffic along I-95 in the Holmesburg section of Northeast Philadelphia.

The two-alarm blaze broke out around 8 a.m. on the 7300 block of Milnor Street.

There were no reports of injury.

Investigators say they believe the fire began in a recycling-plant trailer next to the building and then spread to the adjacent commercial structure.

Smoke from the fire could be seen by motorists on nearby I-95.

The fire was under control by 8:35 a.m., according to firefighters.
