A York County jury has convicted a central Pennsylvania man in the death of a fire chief who was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic last spring.
After several hours' deliberation Friday, jurors convicted 33-year-old Matthew Diehl of Shrewsbury on charges of vehicular homicide while driving under the influence and homicide by vehicle in the death of 45-year-old Rodney Miller.
Diehl was found not guilty of third-degree murder in the April 2013 incident.
Miller, the Loganville fire chief, was struck at Glen Rock exit on Interstate 83 while he was closing down the highway because of a crash.
Diehl is free on bail to await sentencing in late December.
