Firefighters Battle Wildwood Building Fire

Firefighters were called to a large fire in Wildwood, New Jersey.

The fire broke out at a building on Hudson and West Wildwood avenues Saturday night. At least six fire departments were called to the scene, according to the Cape May County Herald.

No injuries have been reported. Colleen Scully, a Wildwood resident, told NBC10 she believes the fire is taking place at a vacant home though several residents also live nearby. She also said she saw several sparks during the blaze.

Thousands of residents in Wildwood were without power, according to Atlantic City Electric. It’s unknown at this time however whether the fire caused the outages. Power was later restored to the homes.

Officials continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
