Fire Breaks Out Half a Mile Away From Scene of Fatal Fire

A fire broke out Wednesday afternoon about a half a mile away from where a massive blaze killed four children four days earlier.

The fire started at a home on 6333 Wheeler Street around 3:30 p.m. It was quickly placed under control and no injuries were reported.

The Red Cross is currently assisting a family of three affected by the fire.

The home is located .5 miles away from last weekend's quadruple fatal fire. Early Saturday morning, a fire broke out on 6516 Gesner Street and quickly spread to seven other homes. Over 40 people were displaced and four children were killed in the fast-moving blaze.
