Two young brothers were killed and another critically injured after being shot by their father around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

Alfred Moton shot his three sons in their home on Royal Avenue in Pennsauken, N.J., police said.

Steven Moton, 12, was found dead in the house. The other boys ran from the home after being shot, according to officials.

Moton's 18-year-old son, Alfred Jr., was found dead on a nearby street, said police, while his brother, Charles, 16, lay injured on another street.

Charles, who was shot in the chest, was rushed to Cooper University Hospital and was in critical but stable condition, reported The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The 54-year-old father allegedly set fire to his home then charged at police with a gun in his hand. Officers fired multiple times, killing the man.

The mother of the children was working at the time of the shooting, said the paper.

Investigators were working to determine what led Moton to shoot his children.
