Father Judge Closed for Another Day

The school has been closed since dozens complained of eye irritation during a cheer competition Sunday night.

A Philadelphia Catholic high school is closed again despite being cleared to open after dozens of people complained of eye irritation during a weekend cheerleading competition that had been staged there.

City officials said Father Judge High School could open Wednesday after tests showed no problems on Tuesday. But the Archdiocese of Philadelphia opted to close the school for a second day while more tests are completed.

Dozens complained of eye and skin irritation during a cheerleading competition that took place in the school's gym. The school was closed Monday for an in-service day and remained closed Tuesday after an inspection couldn't find the source of the problem.

The archdiocese says it hopes the school will be open Thursday.
