ID Theft Probe at 2 New Jersey Farmers Markets Affects More Than 100 Customers

Police are probing possible ID thefts linked to two farmers markets in northern New Jersey.

Roxbury Township police say it may involve more than 100 customers who made purchases with their credit or debit cards at Ledgewood Farm and Wharton Farm Market. Many are reporting fraudulent use of their cards.

Police say the data included customer names, credit and debit card numbers, expiration dates and three-digit security codes embedded in the magnetic stripe.

Police say it's possible malicious software made it into the markets' computer systems.

Officials say the owners are cooperating and have taken steps to prevent further breaches.
