Police say a western Pennsylvania farmer has found 150 marijuana plants growing in his corn field.
Police in Penn Township, Butler County, say the landowner won't be charged because he didn't grow the plants. Instead, police say he discovered them in the middle of his field, hidden by weeds and corn stalks, while he was spraying the tract.
Police believe someone pulled corn stalks out of the field, about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh, and planted the marijuana recently. The plants were all about 12 to 18 inches high. Police say full-grown plants produce about $500 to $600 worth of marijuana each.
Police plan to destroy the plants and to charge whoever planted them, if investigators can determine who that is.
