Fake Comcast Worker Steals From Homes: Police

Police are on the hunt for a man who they say is burglarizing homes while posing as a Comcast employee.

On Saturday, New Castle County Police responded to Longview Farms and Highland Woods in Wilmington, Delaware. When they arrived, they discovered that several homes in both communities had been burglarized.

During one of the incidents, police say the victim returned home and spotted the suspect. When confronted, the suspect claimed he was a Comcast employee, according to investigators. Police say he then fled in an older model light blue colored Dodge Intrepid with an unknown Pennsylvania registration. His vehicle was described as having a spare tire on the front passenger side and white on the rear and front bumpers.

A witness helped police draw a composite sketch of the suspect. He’s described as a man between the ages of 30 and 40, standing 6-feet tall and weighing 200 pounds with reddish brown hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing tan cargo pants and a light colored shirt.

A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the suspect. If you have any information on the man’s identity, please call the New Castle County Police Department at 302-395-2783.
