Man Snatches Woman in Fairmount Park, Throws Her Into Car: Police

A man grabbed a woman along a road in Fairmount Park and pushed her into a sedan against her will, said Philadelphia Police.

The abduction occurred shortly before 3 p.m. along Sedgely Drive, near Poplar Drive, said police.

After grabbing the unidentified woman, the suspect forced her into the back seat of a dark blue Pontiac Grand Prix, witnesses told investigators.

The man – who was wearing a white T-shirt and black skull cap -- then drove off toward Girard Avenue, said police. Investigators later focused their investigation on Girard Avenue near Brewery Hill Drive.

Circumstances around the incident remained unclear but police said it's possible the suspect and victim know each other. Anyone with information should contact Philadelphia Police.
