Facebook Murder-for-Hire Suspect Admits Guilt

Woman who asked for someone to kill the father of her baby in a Facebook status pleads guilty

The Philadelphia woman accused of putting a hit out on her baby’s father through a Facebook status has avoided prison after admitting she posted the offer of $1,000 for someone to kill the man.

Nineteen-year-old London Eley pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of conspiracy to commit murder and immediately paroled on a 3- to 23-month sentence.

“I will pay somebody a stack to kill my baby father,” London Eley wrote on her Facebook status May 23, 2011.

The “stack,” which is slang for $1,000, was offered in return for the death of Corey White.

After Eley wrote the status, and commented further that she wanted White “DEAD! HATE HIM,” 19-year-old Timothy Bynum responded on the social networking page: “say no more. what he look like. where he be at. need that stack 1st ima mop that bull."

The attorney of alleged hitman Bynam rejected a deal similar to Eley’s. He says his client thought the Facebook post was a joke. He’s willing to go on trial in March.

In a strange twist to the story, the alleged target – White – was shot dead in West Philly in August while both Eley and Bynum were in police custody. Authorities say White's death may have been drug-related.
