The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that federal investigators have sought financial and campaign records from a number of city judges.
The Inquirer also reported Saturday that agents have interviewed judges and political figures as part of a wide-ranging investigation over the last year.
A spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Philadelphia wouldn't comment.
The Inquirer reports that convicted tax-evader Samuel Kuttab says the FBI had also interviewed participants in a series of monthly dinners attended by Democratic city officeholders and others.
Before he was convicted, Kuttab ran a 300-employee security guard firm that won city contracts and raised money for city Democratic candidates.
He also won a 2011 court case in which his business was sued by a fire-alarm company over a $2,700 debt.
