Experimental Copter Crashes in Delaware

No major injuries reported

A helicopter crashed just feet off the ground Sunday in Middletown, Del., according to Delaware State Police.

The Rotorway Executive 162F experimental helicopter was piloted by Amanda Randall, 51 of Fenwick Island, Del. The helicopter suddenly turned on its side and crashed to the ground with just Randall on board.

The crash occurred at 12:29 p.m. at Summit Aviation.

Luckily no major injuries were reported. Randall, however, did receive basic medical treatment for a minor head wound she got while  climbing out of the wreck.

The crash investigation has been turned over by the State Police to the Federal Aviation Administration.
