A former custodian who videotaped students and teachers with hidden cameras in a South Jersey high school won't have to serve a prison sentence.
John Martin of Wenonah instead will serve 120 days of house arrest and five years of probation. He also must register as a sex offender and pay restitution to two victims.
The 43-year old Martin pleaded guilty last October to invasion of privacy and child endangerment charges. He was chief custodian at Gloucester Catholic High School until he resigned after being arrested in November 2012.
Martin admitted placing pinhole-size cameras in ventilation ducts and smoke detectors in eight rooms that were often used as changing areas. Martin linked the cameras to the school's video security system, which he oversaw.
Some of the images showed nudity.
