The former youth pastor of a central New Jersey church has received a 10-year state prison sentence for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy more than a decade ago.
Middlesex County prosecutors say 48-year-old Jeffrey Mackintosh of Phillipsburg also must register as a sex offender and will be on community supervision for life.
Mackintosh had pleaded guilty last July to aggravated sexual assault. He was sentenced on Friday.
Prosecutors say the attacks occurred on several occasions during 2000, when Mackintosh was youth pastor at the Assembly of God Glad Tidings Church in Perth Amboy. The assaults occurred in a private room at the church, which has since relocated.
