Man Gets Life in Prison for Stabbing Ex's Boyfriend in Bed

A central Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to life in prison plus an additional 10 to 20 years in the stabbing death of his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend who was killed last year as he slept.

Joshua Lookingbill, 25, was convicted last month of second-degree murder and burglary in York County in the January 2013 slaying of 37-year-old Nakia Williams.

Defense attorney Bruce Blocher argued that his client was merely in the home to see his children, but “something snapped” in him when he saw the couple in bed together.

The York Dispatch reports that Lookingbill smirked and chuckled quietly as the victim's mother spoke about her pain.

"I hope you take this time to search within yourself ... to repair all the hearts you have broken," Greene told him, according to the paper. "I forgive you for the heartless, coward(ly) act. You are the reason you're not with your children and I'm not with my son."

Lookingbill declined to say anything to her or the court, saying “I think everybody just pretty much knows what it is.”

During the trial, an 8-year-old boy said he saw Lookingbill fleeing after his mother's boyfriend was stabbed to death in bed.

The child testified last month that he saw "Josh" coming down the stairs and then saw "blood everywhere" and heard his mother crying and screaming.

She testified that she awoke when the victim bolted up in bed, told her to call the police and an ambulance and then fell back.
