A device that police said was designed to look like a bomb caused the evacuation of a South Jersey government building this morning.
The Evesham Municipal Complex along Tuckerton Road in Marlton, N.J. was evacuated around 5:40 a.m. Thursday after an officer made the discovery inside the build, which is open 24 hours a day.
Officials "immediately evacuated this morning and New Road was shut down after an officer discovered the device," according to a post on the township's website.
The package was addressed to a municipal judge and had wires protruding from the side making it appear like a bomb, according to Evesham Township Police.
The New Jersey State Police Bomb Squad was called in to investigate, said police.
Police said the device posed no actual threat to anyone. The bomb squad eventually detonated the item.
No one was hurt.

Around 8:30 a.m., officials gave the all clear after the area was deemed safe. The entire complex was closed for hours and early court sessions scheduled for 8 a.m. were canceled.
The municipal complex, including the Municipal Court, reopened by 10:15 a.m.
