Escaped Prisoner Caught

An escaped prisoner who walked out of jail on Thanksgiving Day is back in custody.

Oscar Alvarado, 27, was captured at the Neshaminy Motor Inn on Route 1 in Bucks County Monday afternoon.

The suspect had been staying at the hotel for several days, according to investigators.

Alvarado escaped from the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility on Thanksgiving Day after he used a visitor’s pass and made it past at la dozen jail employees as he simply walked out the building. He apparently changed into street clothes at some point and may have had an accomplice, according to investigators.

Police escorted Alvardo to Northeast detectives for questioning.

Alvarado was in prison awaiting trial for the murder of 37-year old Marta Martinez-Lozada. He allegedly shot the woman during a robbery on Oct. 21, authorities said. She later died at Temple University Hospital.
