Environmental groups say they're putting $1.8 million into Pennsylvania's closely watched U.S. Senate race.
The League of Conservation Voters and the Environmental Defense Fund said Tuesday that they are launching a TV ad campaign attacking Republican incumbent Pat Toomey.
Toomey is seeking a second term against Democrat Katie McGinty, who is endorsed by the two environmental groups.
Most of the money, $1.5 million, is going into a TV ad airing in the Pittsburgh and Scranton media markets, while the League of Conservation Voters says it is putting another $300,000 into a canvassing campaign.
The Environmental Defense Fund previously spent about $400,000 on mailers to help McGinty win a four-way Democratic primary.
