Emotional Testimony in Feltonville Fatal Crash Trial

Alleged murderer Donta Cradock is paralyzed from the waist down

Two North Philadelphia men, charged with the deaths of a young mother and three children after a horrific Feltonville car crash on June 10, were held for trail on murder charges Monday afternoon.

A Philadelphia Municipal judge ruled Donta Cradock, 18, and Ivan Rodriguez, 20, will face trial on charges of second-and third-degree murder and homicide by motor vehicle after the victims were struck by a car that was fleeing a robbery, according to the Inquirer.

Police said Rodriguez jumped out of a car, hijacked a motorcycle and drove off on it before Cradock sped off in the car.

Investigators said police tried to pull Cradock over, but he sped off and plowed into the victims after jumping a curb at Third and Annsbury Streets.

Latoya Smith, 22, and her daughter, Remedy Smith, 1; and two neighborhood girls, Gina Marie Rosario, 7, and her friend Aaliyah Griffin, 6, were killed instantly.

Officer Abraham Wild was one of the first officers to arrive at the scene of the accident. He broke down on the stand during the 2-1/2 hour preliminary hearing after describing what he witnessed, according to the report.

“”The little mangled bodies and limbs…That scene has never been erased from my mind,” Officer Wild told the judge.

Cradock was also injured in the accident and is now paralyzed from the waist down.
