Fleeing Man Hides Guns, Hundreds of Rounds Ammunition at Delaware Youth Cottage: Police

A man who fled a traffic stop in Delaware hid loaded guns and ammunition at a youth cottage while fleeing, said police.

Jonathan Hall, 30, drove away from a traffic stop along N Dupont Road in Elsmere Saturday night and crashed his vehicle into a ditch at Route 141 and Faulkland Road, said Elsmere police.

A corporal said he saw Hall run from his vehicle carrying two large bags, which were gone by the time he was caught following a lengthy foot chase.

Later, police said they found the two bags, filled with three loaded handguns, about 600 rounds of ammunition and a bulletproof vest, on the property of the state-run Snowden Cottage, a behavior-rehabilitation center for juveniles.

Hall faces numerous charges, including firearm possession by a prohibited person, stemming from a prior felony reckless endangerment conviction. It was not immediately clear if Hall has hired an attorney.
