Elderly Man Banned From Pet Ownership After Dogs Found Dead, Emaciated: Report

An elderly New Jersey man has been banned from owning animals after his two pet beagles were found starved to death in plastic bags at his home, according to a report.

James Walker, who pleaded guilty to two counts of animal cruelty in February, was fined $1,500 and banned from animal ownership for life, reports the Asbury Park Press.

The paper reports the man’s beagles, 6-year-old Peanut and 7-year-old Mama, were found dead and emaciated inside a shed on his property in Long Branch.

A veterinarian determined the beagles died from lack of proper nutrition, the report said.
