Police are investigating the death of an elderly woman found in a lake.
On Sunday around 6:40 a.m., police responded to a report of a car fully submerged in the Cooper River Lake near the Camden County Golf Academy on Route 130 in Pennsauken.
When police arrived they discovered a late model Dodge Avenger inside the lake. After removing the car they found the body of an elderly woman.
The woman was identified as Shirley Johnson, 74, of the 3700 block of Union Avenue in Pennsauken.
Authorities are currently trying to determine the cause of death.
