Elderly Woman Attacked in her Home

Two men claimed they were checking for contaminated wate

A 95-year old Delaware County woman was the victim of a vicious attack inside her Upper Chichester home on Thursday. Police say two men got inside her house, by claiming they were checking for contaminated water.

"They take her to the basement, they put her in front of the wash sink, the laundry sink, and they turn on the water and tell her to sit there and watch the water and let the tub fill up" said Sgt. Thomas McNichol.

Investigators tell NBC10 the men went upstairs and ransacked the house, stealing money and jewelry.

When she tried to get out, police said, one of the men grabbed her by the neck and threatened to kill her and her daughter.

She later was able to escape and go to neighbors for help.

"It hits you hard when it happens next door, she's a sweet lady" said Tim Colin.

Her son, Steve Roskinski, says she's still shaken up.

"She's OK,  but how would you feel at 95-years old, that you just got threatened and someone took advantage in your house and now you're gonna sleep in here tonight?"
