Authorities say an elderly man died and his wife was seriously injured in an attack in their Pennsylvania home over the weekend.

Tioga County Coroner James Wilson told The (Williamsport) Sun-Gazette that 82-year-old Oliver Litzelman of Liberty Township died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Edwina Litzelman, 81, remained in serious condition in Geisinger Medical Center.

Police said a relative discovered the couple inside their home on Route 414 Sunday morning. They believe the attack occurred sometime between Friday and Sunday in the small town of Liberty -- located about 110 miles north of Harrisburg.

Authorities are searching for a middle-aged woman possibly driving a green sedan.
