An 83-year-old man was hit by a tow truck at Frankford Avenue and Arendell Avenue in Torresdale on Monday morning.
He was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later, according to Philadelphia Police.
The tow truck was backing up when he struck the victim, said investigators.
The driver remained on the scene and the investigation continues.
