Authorities in suburban Philadelphia say a 78-year-old man shot and killed his disabled 59-year-old daughter and then killed himself after a professional caregiver had gone to get food.
Investigators say the apparent murder-suicide happened Saturday night in East Rockhill Township. Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler says that when the caregiver returned to the home she found the man and his daughter fatally shot.
Coroner Joseph Campbell is identifying the two as Thaddeus Swierzewski and his daughter, Mary Swierzewski. Campbell says the woman was shot twice in the head and that her father died of a self-inflected gunshot to the head.
Authorities say the daughter suffered from some sort of disability.
