Mom Charged With Drinking While Pushing Stroller

Drunk while "strollering" put a local mother behind bars

Drunk while "strollering." That's the charge that Tami Glasmire will have to outlive -- being the mom in town who did time in prison for being intoxicated while pushing her daughter around in a stroller.

Glasmire, 38, was in such bad shape that day in June, someone in Slatington called the cops, and according to The Morning Call:

Police found Glasmire sitting on steps, next to the baby and the stroller, and leaning over. Police said she looked like she was about to fall over and when they spoke with her she had slurred speech.

Glasmire blew a .399 – nearly five times the legal limit. She spent a month in jail and pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of her one-year-old daughter.

Glasmire also admitted she was guilty last summer of driving while intoxicated when she crashed her car on the Interstate 78 ramp to Route 222. Her baby daughter was along for that ride too.

A judge sentenced Glasmire to prison time and probation when she was sentenced Tuesday, but the jail time was waived because of the month she'd already spent behind bars.

In addition, Glasmire's driver's license was suspended, the judge said she had to go through rehab, she can't see her daughter unless it's a supervised visit and she can't drink a drop of alcohol for the next 30 months while she's on probation.

Her little girl is being taken care of by a relative.
