Camden County Police say a driver has been charged in a New Year's Day hit-and-run that killed one person and seriously injured another.
Forty-two-year-old Sam Miles IV of Williamstown, Gloucester County, turned himself in late Saturday afternoon. He was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident that resulted in a fatality and was released after posting $50,000 bail.
Authorities say the accident occurred sometime between 3 a.m. and 3:40 a.m. Saturday in Winslow Township. Twenty-three-year-old Stacy Casalnova and 29-year-old Sean Scolla, both of Winslow, were struck as they walked home from a nearby establishment.
Casalnova was pronounced dead at the scene, while Scolla remained in critical but stable condition at Cooper Hospital in Camden on Sunday.
