Police say a driver, attempting to avoid gunfire, slammed into several parked cars on a West Philadelphia street this morning.
Investigators tell NBC10’s Jesse Gary the initial call from neighbors was of a traffic accident around 2:20 a.m. on the 1300 block of North Allison Street but once detectives arrived on scene they say a shooting preceded the crash.
Police say it appears the target of the gunfire was driving a dark blue pick-up truck south on Allison Street.
The driver, apparently trying to avoid being hit by gunfire, backed away from the gunman and hit several parked cars. The driver of the pick-up truck ran from the scene, according to investigators.
Police are searching for the gunman.
