Don’t let it get to you, Philadelphia. We know how absurd this “beer raid” issue is becoming.
If you haven’t heard the news by now, more than a dozen armed state troopers raided three popular Philadelphia bars known for their wide beer selections last week.
Police confiscated hundreds of bottles of expensive lagers and ales and apparently they’re being held at an undisclosed location. This undisclosed location better be refrigerated, or else a drunken mob will seek revenge for the tainted nectar.
The bottom line is: This isn’t 1920. The city of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania have a lot more to worry about then names on the labels of beer bottles. This city was founded on beer and good drink!
Oh, and if you're wondering what the grand total was of liquid courage repossessed by the Prohibition Police: 60.9 gallons of beer with an estimated value of $7,200.
That’s a lot of courage.
