Drexel Basketball Players Surrender in Robbery Case

Two Drexel University basketball players turned themselves into Philly police Monday -- accused along with a third student of robbing a co-ed at gunpoint.

Jamie Harris and Kevin Phillip -- both 21 -- face robbery and weapons charges and other counts.

Harris is Drexel's starting point guard, and Phillip is a backup forward.

Police say the robbery happened at a female student's apartment around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The third student, Devon Bond, went to the co-ed's apartment first, according to police. Harris and Phillip came in a few minutes later demanding money but found none, according to Lt. John Walker. They allegedly left with two cell phones.

Soime of the evidence was caught on tape, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Bond was arrested the next night and police say he identified the two other suspects as Harris and Phillip.

Harris' attorney did not immediately answer a message seeking comment; an attorney for Phillip declined to comment. A telephone
listing for Bond could not be found.
