Plans for Center City High-Rise to Be Announced

Carl Dranoff will announce which hotel will occupy the 47-story tower planned for the corner of Broad and Spruce streets when he unveils renderings of the project Tuesday.

The CEO of Dranoff Properties will name the project's architect and the hotel slated to offer 150 rooms in the mixed-use building at a press conference Tuesday at The Kimmel Center, according to a news release.

The building will also have 125 luxury condominiums and a high-end restaurant and bar.

The "transformative" project is one of several along Broad Street for Dranoff.

The Philadelphia-based company manages two residential buildings it previously developed - South Star Lofts and 777 South Broad - within blocks of the future tower.

The latest project will be Dranoff's first dip into hospitality sector.

Mayor Michael Nutter and City Councilman Mark Squilla will also be at the press conference.
