Dover Council to Consider Curfew

Kids, 16 and under, may soon face a curfew in the city of Dover.

A Dover City Council committee will consider a proposal to bring a curfew to the city at Wednesday's meeting.

Councilman Bill Hare drafted the proposed ordinance that would apply to kids 16 and under.

The proposed curfew would be in effect between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday and between midnight and 6 a.m. on the weekends.

First-time offenders would receive a warning. Fines would be imposed for subsequent violations.

The proposal is up for review by the Safety Advisory and Transportation Committee.
