Eagles Name 15 Assistant Coaches to Doug Pederson's Staff

Just a day after Doug Pederson was announced as the Eagles' head coach, most of his coaching staff is already in place.

The Eagles announced on Wednesday night that they have agreed to terms with 15 coaches, including offensive coordinator Frank Reich, which CSNPhilly.com confirmed earlier in the day.

Some notable names from the list include former Eagles wide receiver Greg Lewis, who will be the team's receivers coach, and several holdovers from the last staff.

On Tuesday, Pederson said he was keeping special teams coordinator Dave Fipp, offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland and running backs coach Duce Staley. Go ahead and add tight ends coach Justin Peelle and defensive backs coach Cory Undlin, who will coach the cornerbacks, to that list.

The safeties will be coached by former Eagles safety Tim Hauck.

There are some notable absences from the list. For one, there's no quarterbacks coach listed. On Wednesday, FOXSports reported former Browns OC John DeFilippo will be hired to coach quarterbacks. It's possible the two sides haven't yet reached terms.

Also, the list doesn't include a defensive line coach. Defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz sometimes likes to run a wide-9, so the team will have to find a D-line coach who is on board.

Here's a breakdown of 15 the Eagles sent out on Wednesday:

Jim Schwartz
Pederson announced Schwartz on Tuesday. The longtime defensive coordinator and former Lions head coach is probably the most important hire for Pederson. Schwartz will run his side of the ball. While Schwartz was the head coach in Detroit for five years, this will be his 10th as an NFL defensive coordinator. He held that position with Buffalo and Tennessee.

Frank Reich
Reich was the Chargers' defensive coordinator for the past two seasons. He is well-known for his 13-year NFL playing career. He once famously led the Bills back from a 32-point deficit to win an AFC Wild Card game in 1993.

Dave Fipp
Pederson praised Fipp on Tuesday and declared he would be back. This will be Fipp's fourth season as the team's special teams coordinator. The Eagles' special teams unit has been a strength under Fipp.

Jeff Stoutland
Stoutland was another coach Pederson praised on Tuesday during his press conference. This will be his fourth season as the team's offensive line coach. Before coming to Philadelphia, Stoutland's entire coaching career came at the collegiate level.

Eugene Chung
Chung, who is the assistant offensive line/tight ends/run game coach, is back for his second stint with the Eagles. He was the Eagles' assistant offensive line coach from 2010-12 before heading to Kansas City to hold the same role for Andy Reid. Pederson was able to lure him away from the Chiefs.

Greg Lewis
Yes, that Greg Lewis. The former Eagles' wide receiver is now the team's wide receivers coach. Lewis began his coaching career with the Eagles as an intern in 2012 before spending three seasons coaching in college. Last year, he was an offensive assistant with the Saints.

Justin Peelle
Peelle, who was made the Eagles' tight ends coach before last season, will again hold that position. This will be his fourth overall season with the Eagles. Peelle played 10 seasons in the NFL.

Duce Staley
Staley, who became the Eagles' running backs coach under Chip Kelly, has also been retained. Staley was one of 10 candidates the Eagles interviewed for the head coaching job.

Press Taylor
Taylor is back for his fourth season with the Eagles. Aside from being a quality control coach, he also got the title of assistant quarterbacks coach added to his name.

Ken Flajole
Flajole, who will be linebackers coach, is the guy who was about to take the UTEP defensive coordinator spot but then backed out last week to join the Eagles, which set off alarms about the possibility the team had found its coach. This will be his 17th year in the NFL.

Cory Undlin
Undlin, who is thought of very highly by his players, is returning for a second season. He'll continue to coach in the secondary but will focus on corners. Before coming to Philly, he was the Broncos' secondary coach.

Tim Hauck
You probably remember Hauck from his 13-year NFL playing career, which had a stop in Philadelphia. He'll coach the secondary with a focus on the safeties. He most recently coached at UNLV from 2013-14.

Phillip Daniels
Daniels, a defensive quality control/assistant D-line coach, played 14 years in the NFL, picking up 167 starts to go along with 390 tackles, 62 sacks, 15 forced fumbles and 12 fumble recoveries.

Dino Vasso
Vasso, who joins the team as a defensive quality control/assistant secondary coach, spent the last three seasons with the Chiefs. He is a former letterman from the University of New Hampshire.

Matthew Harper
The Eagles' new assistant special teams coach is the team's old assistant special teams coach. Harper held the role from 2013-14, but spent last season as an assistant DBs coach. He spent the previous four years at Oregon under Kelly.
