Pennsylvania Man Phones-in Threats to Kill Schoolchildren

A Pennsylvania man who phoned in threats to the county courthouse to kill schoolchildren so he could avoid paying court fines has been sentenced to prison.

Forty-nine-year-old Todd Dohner, of Pine Grove, was sentenced Tuesday to two to five years in prison by a Schuylkill County judge. He pleaded guilty in April to criminal use of a phone, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.

Police say Dohner phoned the county courthouse hoping the vague threats would close the courthouse so he could avoid paying court fines.

Dohner claimed to be with a terrorist group that would shoot schoolchildren from 100 yards away unless the courthouse closed by noon Oct. 3. The courthouse did close.

Dohner says, "I just made a mistake one night."
