As if parking in Philadelphia isn’t already expensive, prices have increased.
That’s right, Philly, the time has come to fork up another $.50 an hour if you’re parking in Center or University City, according to the Philadelphia Parking Authority.
That means that parking in Center City goes $2 an hour to $2.50 and from $1.50 to $2 in University City.
The July 15 increase applies to meters and kiosks in those areas.
The money from the parking increase along with a property tax hike as well as $10 million from the city’s general fund means an extra $53 million for the Philadelphia School District.
