A Philadelphia-based deli meats company might announce this week it will be bringing back facilities and workers from New Jersey.

Dietz & Watson's plans have been up in the air ever since its manufacturing warehouse in Delanco, New Jersey, went up in smoke last fall.

The company already has some facilities in Philadelphia, and City Councilman Bobby Henon said he's hopeful that a change in zoning to some property in the old Frankford Arsenal will be enough for the company  to relocate.

"I would love Dietz & Watson to bring its production back from their unfortunate situation in New Jersey with the fire back to the city of Philadelphia, back in my district," he said. "It goes with the mission of the city of Philadelphia in attracting manufacturing."

The new warehouse would be near the company's Philadelphia headquarters.

Henon said he's hoping the rumblings he's heard about the company founded in 1939 are true.

"I would love for them to come back and be a part of the fabric of Philadelphia. They are an icon," he said. "We would welcome them and fully support that."

Sources say the announcement could come as soon as this week.
