Detectives Trying to Identify Man Involved in Temple Student Sex Assault

Investigators are hoping the public can help identify a suspect in the sexual assault of a Temple University student this week.

The 20-year-old victim was sexually assaulted at gunpoint at 11:35 p.m. Monday along the 1400 block of N. Carlisle Street, police said.

After the assault, the man fled and the victim ran to a nearby emergency call box.

Philadelphia Police's Special Victims Unit released surveillance photos of the man Friday afternoon. Cameras captured him exiting the Broad Street Subway at Cecil B. Moore Avenue shortly before the assault happened. The station is near the scene.

The man is said to be in his mid-20's standing 6-feet tall with a thin build and dark completion. He had a goatee and was wearing blue jeans, black boots, a green and gray puff jacket, black hoodie and black hat.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Philadelphia Police tipline at 215.686.TIPS.
