NJ Woman Throws Pine-Sol in Officer's Face: Police

A woman was arrested after she allegedly threw Pine-Sol in the face of a responding police officer in Deptford, New Jersey Saturday afternoon.

Deptford police officers responded to Deptford Park Apartments on Pop Moylan Boulevard in Deptford at 2:12 p.m. for the report of a 911 hangup. One of the officers, Derek Mottershead, tried to speak with an apartment resident, later identified as Glynis Henson, 56, about the call.

After speaking with the officer for several minutes through the closed apartment door, Henson allegedly  opened the door and threw Pine-Sol cleaning solution into Mottershead’s face. Henson was then arrested after a brief struggle with the officer, investigators said.

Officer Mottershead was taken to Inspira Medical Center – Woodbury and later released after receiving treatment.

Henson is charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest. She was taken to Salem County Correctional Facility and lodged in lieu of $7,500 full cash bail.

“The officer responded to assist as a result of the 911 call and then becomes the victim of an unprovoked assault,” said Deptford Police Chief William Hanstein. “We will not tolerate any such attacks on our police officers who protect and serve the township. This will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
