The state of Delaware releases more than 100,000 names of people who have money or property that is unclaimed.
The Delaware Department of Finance is publishing the names and addresses over 100,000 owners of unclaimed property on a government website: Finance.Delaware.Gov.
Billions of dollars in property and cash go unclaimed all over the country every year -- stocks, wages, refunds, interest, investment dividends, and more. Sometimes, a family member dies and survivors don't know about accounts or safe deposit boxes. Tax refunds and pension payments from former employers are also examples of money that goes unclaimed. Or, say you move and your utility company refunds a deposit to you, but it never reaches you.
Now, states have set up databases so you can go online and search to see if you or a family member have unclaimed property or cash.
